Harmony Furniture paint is similar to self-sealing furniture paint its but with the same chalky finish as chalk paint.
Our Furniture paint can be used as a quick and easy way to either brighten up fences or old tired looking furniture or give old existing furniture a coat of new paint.
Our paint is water-based and dries quickly so avoid drying in direct sunlight.
There is no need to varnish the paint if it’s on a horizontal surface because the paint is water-resistant and it slides off however if you were to paint it on say a table we would recommend that you gave the surface a coat on the flat part the ensure that any water does not pool or cause the paint to lift.
If you decide to Varnish it then it can be varnished using Harmony Clear Coat water-based varnish.
Instructions for painting
- Remove any debris, leaves, dust, cobwebs etc.
- Sand of any loose paint if painting old furniture
- If painting on a fence one coat is usually only necessary, Load the brush up with enough paint to apply clean brush strokes up and down the grain of the fence vertically
- If painting on furniture two coats may be necessary. Ensure paint is touch dry between coats.
- Allow a couple of days for the paint to fully dry before finally applying a coat of Clear Coat to any pieces of furniture
Finally, once the furniture is finished sit back and enjoy some sunshine while it lasts. When the sun is over and it starts raining again make sure you put your furniture away in a shed if possible or cover to keep the furniture in good condition until next year. Or if you are bored you leave them out in the English weather and can repaint them in Harmony’s new season’s colours next year.
